NOV/DEC'21 HUMAN MAGAZINE

A long road to recruitment

In the November/December issue of Human Magazine, colleagues Beatriz Portas, Catarina Nobre, Clara Alves and Júlia Vieira give their views on

High-performance recruitment and selection: Adapting to new realities.

Excellence in Recruitment and Selection (R&S) at SLOT is achieved through a culture and methodology that values adaptation to new ways of working and technological change. These changes are fundamental to the company's continued success.

A recent example is the selection of a candidate for an IT role. This process was carried out entirely digitally, with online interviews and assessments, demonstrating the SLOT team's ability to adapt. Despite the distance, the bond and closeness with the candidates was maintained, underlining the importance of the human factor even in the digital age.

Beatriz Portas stresses that R&S requires a great deal of work and active listening, but also offers great satisfaction through the variety of people and experiences you meet. She stresses the importance of continuous growth, which is facilitated by the support of the team.

Catarina Nobre recalls her first interview and stresses the importance of making candidates feel heard, especially in a digital context. She believes that empathy is one of the most valued soft skills, both for the recruiter and the candidate.

Júlia Vieira points out that R&S is a process with several phases, which can vary in length. She recounts an experience in which a candidate's impatience led to an abrupt end to an interview. Júlia stresses that recruiters need to be patient and good listeners, adapting to the different personalities and moods of candidates.

SLOT believes that reconciling traditional methods with new digital platforms is essential for the company's growth and the continuous improvement of its recruitment processes.
